Return Policy

At Shellharbour Marine Electronics, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. This Return Policy outlines your rights and our procedures for returning products in accordance with Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

 

1. Eligibility for Returns

We accept returns for most products purchased from Shellharbour Marine Electronics if they meet the following conditions:

  • The item is unused, in its original packaging, and in the same condition as received

  • The return request is made within 14 days of delivery

  • You provide proof of purchase, such as an invoice or receipt
     

Returns requested outside of this period may not be accepted unless required under Australian Consumer Law.

 

2. How to Request a Return

To start a return, please contact us by email at scott@shellharbourmarineelectronics.com.au.
Include the following details:

  • Your full name and contact information

  • Order number and date of purchase

  • Item(s) you wish to return

  • Reason for return (for example, incorrect item, faulty product, or change of mind)
     

Once your return request has been reviewed, we will provide instructions for sending your item back.

 

3. Return Shipping

Unless the item is faulty or was sent in error, customers are responsible for the cost of return shipping.


We recommend using a tracked postal or courier service, as we cannot be held responsible for items lost or damaged in transit.

For faulty or incorrect items, Shellharbour Marine Electronics will cover all reasonable return shipping costs.

 

4. Inspection and Approval

When we receive your returned item, we will inspect it to ensure it meets the eligibility criteria.


Once approved, we will notify you by email and process your refund, exchange, or store credit within 5 to 10 business days.

If the returned item is found to have been used, damaged, or installed, we may decline the return or issue a partial refund at our discretion.

 

5. Faulty or Damaged Products

If your product arrives faulty, damaged, or not as described, please contact us within 7 days of delivery.


We may request photos or details of the issue to help us assess the claim.

Depending on the situation, we will arrange one of the following:

  • A replacement item at no additional cost

  • A full refund to your original payment method

  • A repair under manufacturer warranty
     

We comply fully with the guarantees provided under Australian Consumer Law, ensuring that faulty products are repaired, replaced, or refunded as appropriate.

 

6. Non-Returnable Items

The following items cannot be returned:

  • Custom-made, special-order, or modified products

  • Electrical components that have been installed or connected

  • Items sold as clearance or “non-returnable”

  • Gift cards or vouchers
     

Please contact us before purchasing if you are unsure whether an item is eligible for return.

 

7. Change of Mind Returns

If you have changed your mind about a purchase, you may request a return within 14 days, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging.
Change of mind returns are subject to approval and may incur a restocking fee to cover handling and packaging costs.

Shipping costs for change of mind returns are the responsibility of the customer.

 

8. Exchanges

If you wish to exchange a product for a different model or item, please contact us to discuss availability.
Exchanges are treated as new orders and will require payment or refund of any price difference.
